Mount Fujiyama



Located between Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefecture in the west of Tokyo.
  •  Surrounded by three cities: Gotemba (east), Fuji-Yoshida (North) and Fujinomiya (southwest).
  •   Surrounded 5 lakes: Kawaguchi, Yamanaka, Sai, Motosu and Shoji.
  •   Fujiyama Mount is the largest mount  in Japan.
  •  Fujiyama Mount Altitude: 3,776 meters (higher than Mount Semeru 3,676 meters).
      


Mount Fuji is a mountain called immortality or Fuji-san by the Japanese).

Before the Meiji era, women were not allowed to climb the mountain fuji, because the peak is regarded as a sacred place, which is always used for a place of prayer and meditation for the people of Shinto and Buddhist. 


Fuji mountain peaks covered with eternal snow. 
At the foot of the mountain there are waterfalls, lakes and forests.
Fuji-san is a symbol for a country other than the Japanese cherry blossoms.


Legend of Fuji-san

It is said there used to be a pair of grandparents who live in remote villages. Work grandfather was cutting bamboo. One day, he saw bamboo glowing like gold.


Out of curiosity, the grandfather then cutting bamboo, it appeared that in it was found girls who approx 9 cm height. 



The grandfather then took her home and told grandmother. They named the girl Kaguya. Since caring for Kaguya, each bamboo harvested by grandfather, inside there must be gold. They also become prosperous life thanks to Kaguya.

Princess Kayuga imperceptibly grew into a very beautiful princess. Beauty spread throughout the country. Many of these men are married, ranging from wealthy clients to royal officials. But, he menolakya by providing difficult conditions, such as asking the Buddhist scriptures brought bowls, necklaces of dragon eye ball, glowing fan and others.

At the time of the full moon night is coming, Princess Kayuga is crying. She is looking at the moon. Grandfather and grandmother became worried. 

On 8 August, Princess Kayuga admitted to the grandfather and grandmother that she came from the moon and the full moon, she had to return to the moon. Grandfather and grandmother tried to defend Princess Kayuga month when the messenger came to fetch her back to the moon.

But their efforts useless. Princess Kayuga is finally going to the moon, as a memento and a token of thanks to the grandparents who had nursed her, she gives Fushi no Kusuri (eternal life drug) to the grandparents.

But because the grandfather burn that eternal life drug, because to him ethernal life means nothing if there's no Kaguya side. Grandfather burn the medicine was at the top of the highest mountain in Japan. The Mount is then named Fushi no Yama (immortal mountain).

And the mountain is now known as Fujiyama.



Mystery of Fuji Mount



Mount Fuji famous as a favorite place for suicide. Every year note was found about 100 bodies here.

For this phenomenon, the government put an article in a prominent place so that everyone think clearly before deciding to end his life in a mountain Fuji.
